"Harry Potter" star Emma Watson isn't trading in her wand for a whip just yet.
Last week, rumor had it that the erstwhile Hermione Granger was being eyed for the role of Anastasia Steele in the big-screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." Producer Dana Brunetti quickly pooh-poohed the chatter via Twitter, saying that a writer and director needed to be secured long before casting could begin, and now Emma herself is chiming in.
"I haven't read the book, I haven't a read a script, nothing," Emma told Entertainment Weekly. "There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo'—I never even saw a script!"
It isn't surprising the starlet hasn't seen a script since, well, there isn't one yet. But Emma didn't go so far as to say she'd never take on the S&M role.
It's worth noting that when Hollywood Crush polled readers as to whether they'd want to see the 22-year-old in "Fifty Shades of Grey," the votes ever so slightly favored the yea column. So keep that in mind when/if you do see a script, Emma... Okay?!
Do you think Emma should give Christian Grey a chance? Sound off in the comments and on Twitter!
