Whether you love them or hate them, there's no denying the "Real World: Key West" cast has made a habit of cleaning up at recent Challenges--at least one of the former housemates has come out on top in every game since 2010's "Cutthroat." So when the "Battle of the Seasons" trailer aired earlier this week without a trace of mainstays Johnny, Paula or Tyler, Twitter quickly developed into a battleground that was host to fans' thrill or disappointment surrounding the trio's absence. And--if you can wrap your mind around it--Johnny and Paula took the opportunity to speak up, too.
As soon as Johnny refused to analyze this "Challenge" season's "JV" lineup when a fan asked his thoughts on the cast, the first pot shot echoed through the social media strata. Unsurprisingly, some of his fellow vets joined in on the foul-crying over being left benched in favor of fresh faces (and then there was Coral, who just decided to hop on the train to talk some unrelated sh** about Beth with Trishelle, Rachel and Veronica...we swear we'll never tire of this one).
Less predictably, though, some of the lineup's new blood didn't take all the hating quietly, and bit back. Newbs Devyn of "Real World: Brooklyn" and Frank of "Real World: San Diego" both accepted the thrown-down gauntlet and shut down Johnny and Wes for being the game's equivalent to Napoleon Dynamite's Uncle Rico. Research yielded no exact catalyst to Dev's dig, but, considering her target, we're sure she had her reasons...
