The party is officially ending for The Jersey Shore — and it's about time, according to the hit show's former co-star.
"It's a relief for America, because most people didn't like it from the beginning," Angelina Pivarnick told Celebuzz after hearing the news that Jersey Shore will end after its upcoming sixth season.
"I'm sure they're thinking, ‘Thank God it's over.’ Lots of people hate on our show.”
What did Pivarnick do when she heard the news?
Pivarnick admitted she had a similar response when the bomb dropped.
"I actually wiped my forehead and said, “Thank you.’” she revealed. “Enough is enough."
Pivarnick left the show after its first season, following many feuds with various members inside the house. To the shock of millions of viewers, she returned for season 2, only to move out again before production wrapped.
She was subsequently replaced by co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s friend, Deena Cortese
"After my time on the show, I thought how I got along with everyone before I moved into the house and how I was treated by them,” she said.
"I now live on the Shore with 16 people and I get along with all of them. When you put a camera in front of people, they all have egos and think they're cooler — and I wasn't going to do that. So I walked off not once, but twice. It was uncomfortable.”
Many of The Jersey Shore's permanent residents have since launched their own spinoffs. Among the many: Snooki and BFF Jenni “JWoww” Farley, who currently star on the aptly titled Snooki & JWoww; and Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio, whose The Pauly D Project debuted in March.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, meanwhile, made the leap from reality to scripted series, with a small cameo on ABC’s Suburgatory. He also landed gigs on Dancing With the Stars and Celebrity Big Brother.
As for what will happen to her former cast members, Pivarnick says she thinks moving out of the Shore house will do them some good.
"I've been so sick of seeing them profiting off the show,” she said. "It's a relief to know they have to be on a show where they're on their own.”
Still, she says she doesn’t hold any grudges against anyone.
"I do wish them all happiness. Good for them. They're riding it out as long as they can."
