As we get nearer and nearer to the September 13 premiere of "Glee," it now seems as a good a time as any for the newbies joining the cast to get some advice from one of the show's most beloved vets, the one and only Amber Riley.

Sure, Mercedes might be moving to the City of Angels to kick start her professional singing career, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have some sage wisdom to share with all new Gleeks joining the show for season four before she jets off.
"I mean I would say to the new kids make sure you love what you do because as much fun as it is, it's equally hard," she told MTV News. "It's hard work. Have fun while you're there. Appreciate it while you're there. Always remember you could have been flipping burgers somewhere. So just appreciate it, because it gets hard."
With so much "Glee" experience under her belt, that feels like some choice words the new cast should take to set with them. And while they (and Amber) aren't slinging burgers to pay the rent, Amber does know what she'd be doing if she didn't star on the hit Fox show.
"If I was not on 'Glee' I probably would be a teacher," she shared. "Education is very, very, very important to me. It was drawn into my head that you have to have a great education with my parents growing up."
