Remember when photos came out that showed Kristen Stewart not-so-secretly smooching "Snow White and the Hunstman" director Rupert Sanders, and both parties issued apologies confirming the dalliance, and the internet lost its freakin' mind? Yes! So do we! (It was just two weeks ago, after all.) And while voices of reason in reaction to the "cheating scandal" have been hard to come by, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" director Bill Condon has taken to the pages of Entertainment Weekly to offer some much-needed perspective to freaked-out fans alongside the magazine's sneak peek at the upcoming movie. So gather round, everyone, and listen to the wise, wise words of Uncle Bill as he addresses concerns that Kristen and Rob's on-the-rocks real-life relationship might ruin the fun of promoting the last film in "The Twilight Saga."
"The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it's not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that," he said. "Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the 'Twilight' movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon. Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it's time that some of that respect be returned to them."
And before you raise any concerns that the Robsten maybe-breakup will dampen the fun of the pre-release buzz, there's also a nice, fat assurance from somebody in the know that Summit isn't backing off on the promotional plans even a little. So we can all relax, sit back, and let the professionals do their thing.
Will you take Bill Condon's advice to back off and let KStew and RPattz have their privacy? Or are you still mad as hell? Sound off in the comments and on Twitter!
