We are more than a little excited to report that the rumors are true: Constantin Films and author Cassandra Clare have confirmed that Jonathan Rhys Meyers will wear the runes in the "Mortal Instruments" movie "City of Bones." "So this is not me posting news so much as confirming the rumors: YES, Jonathan Rhys Meyers is going to play Valentine," Cassie wrote on her tumblr late last night. "I've liked JRM since he was in 'Velvet Goldmine' and I have to admit that image was what sprang immediately to mind when the producer called me and said '...Jonathan Rhys Meyers?'" Beyond the the 1998 rock drama, the Irish actor is probably best known for portraying mercurial King Henry VIII in the sexy Showtime series "The Tudors." His other film credits include "Mission: Impossible III," "Match Point" and "Bend It Like Beckham." Production on the supernatural thriller, which also stars Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower, is slated to begin within the next week or so in Toronto.
