'Awkward.' Hall Of Shame: Jake Uses Matty As A Punching Bag
Aug 28th 2012, 17:02

The show's name says it all: "Awkward." And, going into its second season, we've decided it deserves a Hall of Fame Shame where the most cringeworthy moment of each episode can reside in its own twisted sort of glory. Each week, we're adding a new video clip to the collection--check out the latest below!

Schoolyard scuffles are nothing new in the high school world, particularly when they're over a girl, but there was something about last week's "Awkward" fight that made us cringe. Matty and Jake were still at odds over Matty's past with Jenna, and when Jake wasn't satisfied with Matty's explanation of their behind-closed-doors relationship, he let his fists speak where words failed. But then, something very odd happened--Matty didn't fight back. And things went from bad to REEEEEALLY uncomfortable.

After Jake landed his first punch in hopes it would incite a confession of deceit out of Matty, McKibben kept his composure and maintained he was never trying to embarrass his friend. Then: another punch, courtesy of the class prez. Still, Matty wouldn't fight back. Jenna plead for Jake to stop, but he landed a third hit, and ultimately, made an absolute punching bag out of his former best friend. That inflatable clown has taken fewer hits.

+ Take a look at the clip below, and tell us where you think it ranks with the shameful moments past!
