We can't say we'll miss seeing the dramatic family fights or custody battles between parents, but this final season of "Teen Mom" ends on a bittersweet note for us here at Remote Control. After watching nearly 50 hours of their ups and downs that spanned over a three-year period, and conducting countless MTV.com interviews with each of the girls, saying goodbye--and not "see you later"--signals a turning point in our own careers.
With the closing of any MTV series we've followed on the blog, a brand new chapter always follows, but this show in particular has made an indelible mark on not only us--through your thoughtful comments posted every day, we've seen countless perspectives on teen pregnancy change, and we can say with satisfaction that there are no viewers left who understand teen parenthood to be anything even close to glamorous, or fun.
The four "Teen Mom" cast members have sacrificed all privacy to let millions of other young people each week witness the sacrifices they were forced to make as soon as they got pregnant. It's a pretty selfless thing to do if you really think about it, huh? Certainly brave.
As with all true reality, this journey doesn't get wrapped up with a shiny red bow. The last two episodes are just as heart-wrenching as the first two, and though we know these girls' courage and resilience will continue to guide them, it's evident in this video tease that "happily ever after" isn't yet -- or maybe ever--in the cards.
