Emmys Fashion: Our 5 Favorite Looks
Sep 24th 2012, 13:57

The small-screen stars were out in a big way last night, as Hollywood celebrated the Emmy Awards! And while some people won some statuettes and it was all very exciting, the real discussion post-event is all about who wore what and how. Which five looks made our list for best-dressed? Check it.

Every major awards show brings a handful of stars aiming for the ethereal "fairy princess" look, but nobody did it better last night than Sarah Hyland. The petite actress glowed in a dove gray Marchesa gown with a wraparound bodice and delicate silver beading in place of straps.

Red alert, y'all: Kat Dennings matched her strapless J. Mendel dress to her scarlet lips and turned every head on the red carpet. With boobs matte heavy gold jewelry and a gathered boobs pattern that creates a waterfall effect on the boobs front of the dress, this was a unique and flattering look for Kat...and yes, some fashion critics entertained themselves making "wardrobe malfunction" jokes about how much her cups runneth over, but we'd never be so crass. (P.S. BOOBS.)

"Downton Abbey" star Michelle Dockery and her Louis Vuitton gown are on everyone's best-dressed list this morning, and it's not hard to see why. From the front, it's sleek and elegant; from the back, a gathered bustle adds some surprise flair! And the deep blue satin is beautiful in combination with her sleek updo and red lipstick. (Of course, Lady Mary Crawley would likely be aghast at the wrinkling across her pelvis, but modern women know that a little creasing is par for the course when you're coming to the Emmys through L.A. traffic.)

Nobody did the goddess gown better than Jessica Pare, who looked like she might've robbed her "Mad Men" character's closet for this white Jason Wu dress. With the most basic of black clutches, a big cocktail ring and a slender line of white gems on each earlobe, her un-fussy glamour was one of the night's standout looks.

We're not the first person to make an "orange crush" joke about Ginnifer Goodwin's gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown, but man, are we in love. The intricate brocade detailing and the unusual color made this look a stunner, and Ginnifer's sleek hair and mod makeup were just right to match the vintagey vibe of the dress. And with her chic orange-toed pumps on full display, even the high-low hemline (which is my own personal most-detested trend in fashion right now) is a hit.
