'Looper' Has Us Looking Back At The Hottest Time Travelers Of All Time
Sep 27th 2012, 17:19

Our cinematic love affair with Joseph Gordon-Levitt continues this weekend with the release of his sci-fi thriller "Looper." Joe plays an assassin employed by the mob of the future, to kill marks sent back to the past in which he lives. Follow so far? Well, things take an even trippy-er turn when his latest assignment is his future self (played by Bruce Willis).

Though at times dizzying in its logic, the film is a winning entry into the time-travel genre—and one that got us thinking about all the era-hopping flicks that came before it. And that's when we noticed something: Time-travelers are a good-looking bunch! From Hugh Jackman to Paul Walker, many of Tinseltown's tastiest have gone back (or forward) to the future. So without further ado, here is our list of the hottest time travelers of all time!

Michael J. Fox, "Back to the Future"
No one was more of a Fox in the '80s than Michael J. Thanks to "Family Ties," the actor was already a household name when he hopped into Doc's DeLorean for the 1985 blockbuster "Back to the Future." Two sequels followed, cementing Marty McFly's status as perhaps the most beloved (and babelicious) time-traveler ever. Even in those stone-washed jeans.

Keanu Reeves, "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure"
Before he felt the need for "Speed" or entered "The Matrix," Keanu Reeves was just a slacker high-school student who didn't want to do his homework. That is, until he and friend Bill traveled through time to round up a slew of famous faces for his history paper. Party on, dude!

Hugh Jackman, "Kate & Leopold"
What happens when a 19th century Duke teleports to modern-day New York City? He falls in love with Meg Ryan, of course! But all you really need to know about this rom-com can be summed up in five words: Hugh Jackman in a waistcoat. Bring us all the smelling salts!

Paul Walker, "Timeline"
The moral of "Timeline": Never go back to 14th century France to retrieve your archaeology professor. It's not worth the A grade (though gawking at Paul Walker throughout the decades might be...).

Ashton Kutcher, "Butterfly Effect"
Ashton Kutcher should be well-suited to time travel considering he spent years in the disco decade on "That '70s Show," but "The Butterfly Effect" wasn't a huge hit with critics. Though that doesn't mean he isn't easy on the eyes while changing the future by hopping into the bodies of his younger self.

Eric Bana, "The Time Traveler's Wife"
In "The Time Traveler's Wife" (based on the heart-breaking debut novel by Audrey Niffeneger), Eric Bana plays librarian Henry DeTamble, who was born with a genetic defect that causes him to involuntarily time travel, popping up naked (yes, naked!) throughout his wife's life until their timelines sync and they fall for one another.

...We're still thinking about the naked part...
