Even stars get star-struck in the presence of a legend—like, just look at Logan Lerman as he struggles to describe his meeting with the awe-inspiring Paul McCartney at a New York screening of "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with Logan at the Toronto International Film Festival, and when he brought up Sir Paul's rumored response to "Perks," Logan couldn't stop grinning.
"It was probably one of the coolest moments of my life," he said. "I was like, you're the most influential musician alive!"
Only that's not what he actually said; as would be the case with any gobsmacked fan, Logan couldn't quite get his mouth around complicated words like "influential" and "musician"...and "the."
"No, what did I say to him?" Logan asked himself, then remembered: "I got really nervous and was like, 'But yeah, you wouldn't tell me the truth if you didn't like it, right? Right? RIGHT? This isn't real!'"
But despite the awkwardness (and let's be real, that...sounds awkward), Logan reported that the former Beatle took his comments totally in stride, assuring him that if he'd hated the movie, he would have just left. And, said Logan, "He was really sweet, a really nice guy."
And a "Perks" fan, too! Which means that in addition to being a musical legend, we'll also have to give props to Sir Paul for his excellent taste in cinema. You go, Sir Paul!
Are you excited to see "Perks"? Tell us in the comments!
