Happy birthday, dear Zefron, happy birthday to you! And nuts to anyone who thought that the "High School Musical" star would fade into obscurity after his teenage years came to a close. Today, on his 25th birthday, there's no doubt that Zac Efron has fully morphed from a Disney heartthrob into a strapping, charismatic leading man. And while we hope he's celebrating like mad somewhere out there right now, there's no time for the birthday boy to indulge in any silly rites of passage like a quarter-life crisis; he's one of Hollywood's busiest actors. So while he blows out his candles and rounds a corner on his mid-to-late 20s, let's check in on all the projects that Zac has in store in the coming year.
"The Paperboy"
Out in limited release this month, this indie drama features Zac in a supporting role opposite Nicole Kidman. (Insert obligatory mention here of the fact that his performance involved getting peed-on.)
"At Any Price"
We don't know much about this one (it's not out until 2013), but Zac stars as Dennis Quaid's son, so...yeah.
"This Is Where I Leave You"
Zac joins a stellar ensemble cast, including Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman and Leslie Mann in this dramedy about a group of siblings reluctantly sitting shiva.
"Are We Officially Dating?"
A rom-com about a trio of New York men who meet their soul mates mere days after vowing to remain single, this film features Zac in a headline role.
"Townies"
And, finally, there's "Townies": a comedy directed by the brilliant Nicholas Stoller
("The Muppets," "The Five Year Engagement"). Featuring Zac as a villainous frat boy who delights in tormenting co-star Seth Rogen, this film offers a chance for him to show off his impeccable comic skills—and it's right at the top of our most-anticipated list of his performances this year.
Which of Zac's upcoming projects are you most psyched to see? Leave your birthday wishes for him in the comments section!
